Lenka Jabůrková’s work refers to the aesthetics of the current artistic management of HaDivadlo in Brno. Together with director Ivan Buraj and designer Jana Boháčková, she participates in scenographic and dramaturgic concept of staged works, which refer to contemporary social and political problems and their impact of one’s individuality.

Political topics are not coincidental in Jabůrková’s production: either on big stages (Resettlement!!!, National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, 2015) or in chamber spaces (Putin Is Skiing, Líšeň Theatre, 2010 – together with Matěj Sýkora, authors of costumes and props).

As a scenographer and costume designer, Jabůrková has participated in many productions Moruša: Marriage blanc at JAMU (2008), Not to Succumb at the Elizabethan Stage of the Goose on the String Theatre, The Bald Soprano in the Muse Cabinet (2009), Rabbit Ragout in Řetězová Café in Prague (2010), Speedwell 5/13: Of the Current Crisis in the Goose on the String Theatre, Horror!Horror! in the Marta Theatre Studio (2013), Against Progress. Against Love. Against Democracy. in the Letí Theatre (2014).

She is also the author of several stage designs for the productions of HaDivadlo in Prague: Creatures: Come with Me to the Fire (2012), The Castle (the Integration Shine) (2014), Moonwalkers (Imitation and Premonition) (2016), Uncle Vanya (2016) and Madame Bovary (2015). Her recent costume design is the production of Illusions in the V Dlouhé Theatre (2016).

Lenka Jabůrková received bachelor’s and master’s degree in scenography at the Theatre Faculty, Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno. She studied one semester at Aalto University in Helsinki - School of Art, Design and Architecture.
