The performance is based on six months of research into the topic of dying today, undertaken by the whole team. One of our biggest inspirations was the organisation Cesta domů (The Way Home), which cares for dying people and allows them to die in a dignified environment. The Canadian documentary Dying at Grace, countless stories collected from our family and friends and, last but not least, our own experiences and memories have found their way into RAW and helped us to find a way into a subject that is still taboo in much of daily life.
About the company
Herring Under the Fur was formed in 2018 around the project RAW. In 2019, we continued with the project The Hour of the Blue Elephant (a puppet performance for children and adults coproduced by DAMÚZA). We are currently working on a new project, Míšenská3.
