Intimate dance testimony about loss of children. The death of a child, of any age, brings heartbreak and personal devastation. It might cause a life trauma. But Grief is not a problem to be solved by medicine. It is an experience to be supported, witnessed and shared.
The project was created to support the bereaved parents on their long journey and with the author’s need to open a discussion about a social taboo topic. Bereaved parents find themselves easily in feelings of uprooting and loneliness. The surroundings looks nervously at the bereaved woman-mother or man-father which only deepens the gap between parents and the society.

About the company
Markéta Vacovská
Performer and choreographer. She graduated at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (2012). For the last 10 years, she has been mainly colaborating with Spitfire Company (most recently Constellations III). For the project One Step Before the Fall (in colaboration with Spitfire Company), she received several awards (Herald Angel award (2013), Czech Dance Platform award (2013), Award of the Czech Theatres Times (2013). The project was chosen between Aerowaves Priority companies (2014).

Prague born and raised musician Never Sol creates melancholic songs that are based on layered analog synth soundscapes, dreamy melodies shrouded in tons of reverb with thick yet delicate vocals. Melting in ambient surfaces but cutting deep with distorted and noisy elements.
