About the lector/institution:
Jana Preková specialises in dramatic methods and the visual arts, scenography, costume design, and is a techer and curator. She is the co-founder of the Studio of Stage Design at Janáček Academy of the Performing Arts and the Studio of Physical Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Technical University in Brno. She works with top directors and theatres on everything from site/body-specific experiments (Perzekuce.cz,, Farm in the Cave, Brett Vienna) to productions in the established theatres (National Theatre in Prague, National Theatre in Bratislava, Moravia-Silesia National Theatre in Ostrava, Theatre on the Ballustrade, Goose on a String Theatre, Petr Bezruč Theatre, Dejvické Theatre), and she organises events and installations that border on theatre and conceptual art ((A)VOID Gallery, Prague Quadrennial).
Workshop description:
The basic situation – existence. The body as the subject and object of creativity. The body as a (public) space. An event – concept / role / scene / action. Drawing with the body, communication with colour, lines, gesture, material, sound. The space as a story. Dramatic and artistic perception, the transfer of force, the significance of error. Working with text, music – associative methods. The creativity of the individual / the group.
